As I have been brought up in a Cantonese family, Chee Cheong Fun, 猪肠粉, is one of my favorite food. Recently, there is a shop newly opened in Gala City Kuching, called 潮汕肠粉. We decided to give it a try. The Menu The Menu There was a small pot filling with the paste which looks like the mixture of chili and bean paste on the table. Chili Bean Paste Looking at the picture in the menu, it is different with Hong Kong style Cheong Fun. We ordered Singature Cheong Fun, Cheong Fan with "Special" Char Siew (BBQ pork), and Mushroom Siow Mai.  Signature Cheong Fun Cheong Fun with Char Siew Mushroom Siow Bee Both Cheong Fun's ingredients (Long Cabbage, Egg, Mushroom, Minced meat) is basically the same, except that there is char siew added for one of it. The Cheong Fun skin is quite thick and the portion is quite big. Personally, I still prefer Hong Kong style cheong fun, which is having thinner skin in roll and topped with thick sweet sauce :)

Having a nice dinner here with Pei Pei, the food is nice, but may need to hire more stuff to handle the crowd. Beef Noodle RM12.90 Pork Burger  Vietnamese dripping coffee They are doing the set promotion. I order Pork Burger + dripping coffe (RM12.90). I like the burger, with different vege inside, especially the coriander.  The shop is off every Tuesday.

Share Finally McD drive thru is here! It is located near the Tabuan Giant, and is nearer to Kota Samarahan as well :) excited for this McD drive thru as I no need to go all the way to 3rd mile or town McD.

There is a new cafe and a supermarket opened behind the RHB bank area, called Golden Dragon. We went to the cafe to try out the food selling there. There were stalls selling chicken rice, roti canai, ABC, bread, mee jawa, ayam penyet, etc. We tried the chicken rice stall. The price was RM4.

Another place for Dim Sum at Kuching, other than the Banquet, Kung Fu, Mitsu, etc. The price was reasonable.  And I quite like the Barley drink served by this cafe, not like some other cafe, they served the instant one. And the Barley is cooked together with green bean.

There are three branches in Kuching, the Spring, Boulevard, and the Hills Shopping mall. We always went to the Spring branch. The ice cream there is always my favorite, especially the green tea ice cream together with the red bean paste  The fish belly is nice as well.

J brought me to this Japanese Restaurant for my birthday celebration. We had been to this restaurant for few times, the variety of choices and also the quality is quite good compared to other restaurants in Kuching. Of course, the price for Japanese food price is much more expensive than we eat at normal restaurants or cafe. Salmon and Salmon Belly Salmon belly here is very nice :) Me and John really enjoyed chewing it. The menu mostly in Japanese language, and even the English name is not really explaining about the particular dishes. So mostly we ordered the food according to the pictures on the menu and also from our rough understanding about the English names and also some Chinese characters in the Japanese names.

I have been to Flinder's station for few times together with John. We are quite like to go there for a meal because there don't have government tax and service charge there, and the price is quite reasonable. Flinder's serves western food (chops, pasta, pizza). Pizzas and their fish main dish (Bahamudi) are the main attractions for us. We was having welcoming dinner with Matthew came back from KL to UNIMAS. Having a great time with him. John was sick for the last two week, and he stayed back to his parent's house. He had been limited on the food that he was taking. So today lunch was a good meal for him after two week healthy diet :) Secret Recipe is always our favorite choice for our 'light' meal and having chitchat. The beverage there has quite a variety and their choices of cakes as well. And their main course menu is quite nice for me, because the price is fair if compared to other western food restaurant in Kuching and also their dining environment and the services. There are few branches in Kuching. The service and the standard of the food offered by the branch at the Spring was excellent if compared to other branch i went. Went to Jalan Song for lunch as John said that there was a chicken rice he wanted me to try. Cha Siew Chicken Rice  Then we found another chicken rice stall. We ordered a steam chicken rice. It was quite nice in term of price and taste. The price was RM3.50, and the meat portion was quite large. There was another chicken rice shop at 3rd mile, their chicken rice was really nice, but the price was not cheap as this.

My Chicken Restaurant can be found at Kota Samarahan and Kuching. Originally, they just started by selling friend chicken and burgers, the typical menu for a fast food restaurant. After a while, they did some improvement by adding new menu (like nasi lemak and steam and roasted chicken rice) and doing some promotion (Lunch promotion, Student promotion and etc.). Their steam chicken rice is quite nice, and the price is RM4.50 for lunch offer with a drink. They offer their fried chicken in original and spicy taste.
