@ Daro, Sarawak

Due to the part time job as RA I'm working on, I went to Daro with another friend to test her system with the Melanau community there.
Early morning, took 7am Mas Wing to Sibu, from the Sibu airport took cab to Sibu wharf. Around 8am, we left the airport, thought that we were in time to catch the 9am boat. We were told that the boat for the trip to Daro was only available at 1130am after the 8am trip. Having no other option, we walked to the hawker center above a wet market and found a place to sit down and have our breakfast.
We were told that there were two kinds of boat to travel by rivers. One is express boat, another is speed boat. Express boat is a bigger boat compared to speed boat, but slower than speed boat. From Sibu to Daro, it needed 2 hours and 30 minutes by using express boat, 1 hour over by using speed boat. It was my first experience using boat to travel to other place. A different experience for me, and thought that i might get dizzy by sitting inside the boat, is unexpectedly fine with me, it was quite stable. The funny part is me and my friend didn't know when we should get out of the boat. It was not a flight or LRT which would announce the name of the destination. When we saw people start to leave the boat, one wharf to another, we wondered which wharf we should get on. So I asked an old lady sitting near to us, asking about the place. She said still a long way to Daro, and we would know when we reach as she was heading to Daro as well. Felt relieved, we sat back and relaxed.

Finally, reached Daro wharf. Boarding and getting off the boat was my another fresh experience of taking transportation. Felt like i might fell into water anytime walking at the edge of the boat.
The small park beside the Daro wharf
The place we were staying was located just beside Daro wharf. The stand alone building was properly built by the owner itself. The ground floor was the owner's shop.
The inn
The town was quite small, we could just use 10-15 minutes to walk around all the shops there. Most of the shops were closed after 5pm on that day, because the area was blackout that day. So the only place we could find for filling our stomach was at the middle of the rows of shops. There were around 10 over stalls there, and all were Malay stores. They sold beverages and typical Malay food.. They called that place 'open air'.

Second day, we were going to the telecenter to do our work there. It took about 15-20 minutes for walking distance.

At the third morning, we took 6am boat to go back to Sibu wharf. Very sleepy~~
